Be Here 04:50
the music got quiet and my charm wore off with it the cups are all empty and strewn all over the carpet i don’t wanna be here when you’re not i don’t wanna be here i don’t wanna be here when you’re not i don’t wanna be here and life gets harder in every way all your friends get good jobs and move away you and i got old on the same day both wanted to leave and then stayed midwestern winters make you hate they lock you in your bedroom with no dinner plate they open up the wounds that you had sworn had gone away no one’s gonna love you not even me no one’s gonna love me (no one’s gonna love you) especially not you (especially not me) i don’t wanna be here when you’re not i don’t wanna be here i don’t wanna be here when you’re not i don’t wanna be here (x2)

she fell asleep with the music still playing and all of the bad thoughts you had went away as you tried not to wake her while changing the record from side b right back to side a the scratch of a needle the twitch of an eye then back to the stillness you turn out the light there's a train to the suburbs that leaves in an hour you could feasibly be gone by then but you won't and in the morning a new set of problems her eyes look suspicious you’re guilty, so you admit that you tried not to wake her when she would’ve rather you did the silence at breakfast pushes you towards the exit you tell her you love her you’ll live to regret it on the way to the station you think of her bed you should probably go home instead but you don’t

Park N Ride 03:33
take the park n ride into the city to your friend’s apartment downtown and you tell her that you think she’s so pretty then you waste the afternoon next to her mouth and in the dying winter daylight with the promise of a night you tell her that you love her before it feels right take the city bus to someone’s party find it’s so typical of people you don’t know to celebrate the existences of each other while the other hundred people drink alone and in the blurry warmth of company with the fading of a song you tell her that you love her, but it feels wrong take the long way home to where you started it’s so beautiful the clarity of night in this bitter haze of artificial light to tell her that you love her before it feels right

Where I Fall 04:23
i get lonely when you’re around i get lonely when you’re around i get lonely when you’re around for reasons i’ll not talk about i get lonely when you’re around i look sick when i’m alright i look sick when i’m alright i look sick when i’m alright let’s have too much to drink tonight oh, i feel sick when i’m alright i am bad when i feel good i am bad when i feel good i am bad when i feel good let’s do things that we know we shouldn’t i feel bad when i feel good i land wherever i fall i land wherever i fall i land wherever i fall i’m sorry that i didn’t call you i land wherever i fall i land wherever i fall i land wherever i fall i land wherever i fall i’m sorry that i didn’t call
